a domestic theatre project
announcing our first script-in-hand production !
‘twelfth night - abridged, with songs! ’
may 3rd at 6pm
‘Domestic Theatre’ in Gare Hill
An invitation to our community theatre show!
This is a donation event - more info below
What we will do: Put on an abridged version (50 min)of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night in my garden here in Gare Hill, woodlands as a backdrop, with scripts in hand, using all the skills and talent from the local community. Think comedy acting, shipwrecked sailors, woodland fairies, singing servants and a story line to keep you on your toes!
How do we do it? We chose a script. We cast and re-cast, we added scenes and songs and made it fit the richness of the community that came forward. Now we want to share it ! Scripts have been sent out, and then at 9 am on May 3rd we gather, rehearse, have lunch, create the set, and in the evening perform!
We all contribute and make it a community experience, audience alike - bringing food, wine, firewood, props and costumes - all in a very relaxed enjoyable way.
This is truly about creative experience. We often don’t have time to play as adults…this is simply creating theatre in domestic settings with local community, for fun, entertainment and creative expression.
Come and watch our community theatre event involving 50 cast members, including children! Please sign up with the link below to attend as it’s in my back garden we have rather a limited audience capacity…up to 70… so please sign up now. We will email you with all the details, parking, directions and what to bring.
This is a connecting & collective experience that is inclusive and available to all. If you are in a position to offer something I have put a link below to my son’s Go Fund Me page, we would so appreciate it being towards this - thank you!
If you’d be involved in future fun theatrical adventures, or have any feedback or questions, just get in touch.
We look forward to seeing you!
